Blake International Rigs and an unnamed operator have recently signed a letter of award for the Blake Rig 651 for a multi-well plug and abandonment program in the US Gulf of Mexico.   The Blake Rig 651 is currently located at Blake’s Houma facility, where modifications and make ready operations are being performed prior to mobilization.

Blake International announces it has been awarded a 2018 AEU Safety Award for the
company’s strong commitment to safety in the workplace.

The American Equity Underwriters, Inc., the leading provider of workers’ compensation for waterfront employers, presents the AEU Safety Awards each year to its best performing members nationwide. Eligibility for the awards is based on the frequency and severity of workers’ compensation accidents for the prior calendar year, as well as safety-related metrics determined by AEU’s loss control team.

Blake International Rigs recently completed the upgrades to the Blake Rig 651 for working on dynamic (floating) facilities and is now mobilizing the rig to Murphy Exploration & Production Company’s Medusa SPAR. 

In addition, Blake International Rigs and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation have extended the contract terms for the Blake Rig 1007 and Blake Rig 1505.   The Blake Rig 1007 is wrapping up operations on Anadarko’s Nansen SPAR and will be mobilizing to the Boomvang SPAR following hurricane season.The Blake Rig 1505 recently began demobilizing off the Horn Mountain SPAR for hurricane season and will return to Horn Mountain in November 2019 for another campaign.

All three of these projects are located in the Deepwater US Gulf of Mexico.

Blake International Rigs, LLC and an unnamed operator have entered into a contract to mobilize the Blake Rig 1505 to a floating platform located in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico.  Engineering, make ready and upgrade work will begin on the Blake Rig 1505 in preparation for this project, which is expected to mobilize to the SPAR in Q4 2018.

Blake International Rigs, LLC and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation have entered into a contract to mobilize the Blake Rig 1007 to the Gunnison Spar located in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico.  The Blake Rig 1007 has been located at Blake’s Houma facility preparing for this project and is currently mobilizing to the Gunnison Spar.  Well Operations are expected to commence in December 2017.

Blake International Rigs, LLC and Energy XXI Services, LLC have extended the contract term for the Blake Rig 651.  The initial contract term was for one well at South Pass 77 C, and this extension has the rig moving to South Timbalier 200 A for a 7 well program. This extension should carry the contract into December of 2017, and Energy XXI retains the right to any option wells.

Blake International Rigs, LLC and an unnamed operator have entered into a contract to mobilize the Blake Rig 1007 to a Spar located in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico.  The initial contract term is for seven wells, which is scheduled to commence in Q4 2017. This initial term should keep the rig under contract into Q2 2019, and the operator retains the right to any option wells.  The Blake Rig 1007 is currently located at Blake’s Houma facility where it will begin making ready for the project.

Blake International Rigs, LLC and Energy XXI Services, LLC have entered into a contract to mobilize the Blake Rig 651 to Energy XXI’s South Pass 77 “C” platform.  The initial contract term is for one well, which is scheduled to commence in late April following a 30 day make ready period at Blake’s Houma facility. This initial term should keep the rig under contract into June 2017, and Energy XXI retains the right to any option wells.  The Blake Rig 651 recently completed a 14 well P&A program with a major oil company in the US Gulf of Mexico.

Blake International Rigs, LLC and Fieldwood Energy LLC have extended the contract for the Blake Rig 210 for a one well recompletion in the US Gulf of Mexico.  This extension will take effect following current operations of the Blake Rig 210 for Fieldwood Energy LLC.  The Blake Rig 210 is a 650 horsepower self-erecting modular platform rig.

Blake International Rigs, LLC recently entered into a contract to mobilize the Blake Rig 651 to a platform in the Gulf of Mexico.  The contract term is an eight well P&A program and mobilization is expected to occur in mid-November 2015.

Blake International also plans to mobilize one of the two 2000 HP Self-Erecting Platform Rigs back to their Houma, LA facility from Mexico where is it currently demobilizing off location.  Both 2000 HP rigs in Mexico have been in country since 2011 and are currently being marketed for available work.

Additionally, the Blake Rig 1007 is on schedule to commence mobilization in mid-August 2015 to drill one well off a platform in the Gulf of Mexico.   The initial contract term is expected to keep the rig busy into early-November 2015 and the customer retains the right to an option well.

The Blake Rig 1007 has recently been committed to Renaissance Offshore, LLC to drill the “A-2” well at the South Timbalier 317 “A” platform.  Renaissance plans to mobilize the Blake Rig 1007 around mid-August following Anadarko’s current operations with the platform rig.  The contract term is for this one well and Renaissance Offshore retains the right to an option well(s).

The Blake Rig 1505 recently began mobilizing to Walter Oil & Gas Corporation’s South Timbalier 311 “A” platform, where it will perform a completion on the A-2 well following current rig up operations.

 

Blake International Rigs, LLC and Walter Oil & Gas Corporation entered into a contract to mobilize the Blake Rig 1505 onto the recently installed South Timbalier 311 A platform.  The contract term is for one well, with multiple option wells.

 

The Blake Rig 1505 recently completed a five well project for Ankor Energy LLC, prior to making ready for the Walter Oil & Gas project. 

 

The initial contract term will keep the rig busy into April 2015.  The option wells, if exercised could keep the rig working into Q3/Q4 2015 respectively.

On August 4th, 2014, Blake International Rigs, LLC was presented with The American Equity Underwriters, INC (AEU) Safety Award. This award recognizes AEU members having the the lowest number and severity of claims per hours worked for each calendar year. Of AEU’s five hundred members, Blake International was honored to be the recipient of the 2013 offshore division award. 

Beau Blake, President and CEO of Blake International Rigs, accepted the award at the annual American Longshore Mutual Association, Ltd (ALMA) conference in San Diego, California. Issuing the award was James Burgin, Sr. Vice President and Director of Loss Control of AEU, and Mike Lapeyrouse, President and CEO of AEU. 

Commenting on the award, Mr. Blake said “Receiving this award is a significant achievement for our employees. Safety is a core value for Blake International Rigs, and an integral part of our corporate culture. Thanks to the hard work of our employees, and their dedication to creating a safe environment, more than 375 employees returned home safely in 2013. Blake International USA Rigs, LLC has received a roll over contract for the “Blake 2003” rig.  Pemex has awarded Blake International with a 1215 day contract worth approximately $70,000,000. It will commence following the 35 day extension that expires later this month.  The Blake 2003 has been under contract with Pemex since July 2011.

 

According to Beau Blake, President and CEO, "Modular rigs will continue to play a key role in PEMEX's energy plans. With the Jack-up market utilization tightening and a steady rise in day rates, modular platform drilling and work over rigs have become extremely attractive to Pemex. Modular rigs continue to be a safe, low cost and effective way for Pemex to maintain their production output.”

Blake International Rigs, LLC and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation have entered into a contract to mobilize the Blake Rig 1007 onto the Constitution Spar at Green Canyon 680 A.  The contract term is three wells, to commence following the Drilling Unit’s current contract term.

 

The Blake Rig 1007 recently completed a project for Anadarko on the Marco Polo TLP, and is currently working for Apache Corporation, on the Ewing Banks 826A platform to fulfill a two well contract. 

 

The remainder of the Apache contract, followed by the Anadarko project, is expected to keep the rig busy through July 2014.  “We are very excited about working with Anadarko again, and continuing to build upon our existing relationship.  This contract will mark the third project that Anadarko has awarded Blake International since we entered into the Deepwater market in 2011.  This contract also strengthens our goal to be the preferred platform rig contractor in the Gulf of Mexico”, says Beau Blake, President and CEO of Blake International.

Blake International USA Rigs has received a contract extension on the “Blake 2001”. Pemex has extended the contract for an additional 160 days ending its current contract in mid November. The Blake 2001 will then begin its new 1261 day contract awarded to Blake International earlier this year

According to Beau Blake, President and CEO, “Pemex continues to ramp up its drilling activity and we have positioned ourselves on the front line. Modular platform rigs have become a safe, low cost and effective way for Pemex to regain and maintain their production output needed. We are also in negotiations with Pemex to add additional rigs to our fleet in Mexico by way of deploying current assets from our Houma facility. By adding additional rigs to our Mexico fleet, we will continue to reach our goal of becoming Pemex’s preferred modular platform rig drilling contractor”.

Blake International’s Houma Yard Support Crew recently achieved a significant safety milestone by completing 10 consecutive years without a recordable injury and over 12 years without a lost time injury case. For over a decade, the Yard Support Crew has worked over 800,000 man-hours without a recordable injury and 1.4 million man-hours without a disabling lost time event.

Blake International Rigs, LLC and ANKOR Energy LLC have entered into a contract to mobilize the Blake Rig 1505 onto the Vermillion 379 D platform.  The contract term is 4 wells, to commence following the Drilling Unit’s current contract term.

 

The Blake Rig 1505 recently completed a drilling project at Main Pass 308 A, and is currently at Blake’s Houma facility waiting to mobilize to the High Island A595 D platform to fulfill the remainder of the contract term with Apache Corporation. 

 

The remainder of the Apache contract, followed by the ANKOR project, is expected to keep the rig working into Q3 2014.  “We are very excited about working with ANKOR Energy and establishing a lasting relationship along the way.  This contract further strengthens our goal to be the preferred platform rig contractor in the region and secures long term work for half our rig fleet”, says Beau Blake, President and CEO of Blake International.

Houma, LA- Blake International USA Rigs, LLC is pleased to announce that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued trademark No. 4,191,227 to the Blake DART® apparatus. The DART® construction was completed in March of 2010 and is currently in use on the Blake 1007, under contract to Anadarko. The Blake DART® stabilizing kit is designed as a supplement to the rig’s mast. It enables a portion of the loads imposed by the pipe stored in the mast to be transferred away from the mast back to the rig substructure thereby enabling the rig to work on floating structures in deepwater which exhibit horizontal forces along with pitch and roll effects.

Blake International recently exercised a contract extension, with Apache Corporation, for continued use of the Blake Rig 1505. The contract has been extended for a two platform, five well, program and will keep the rig working into the second quarter of 2013. The Blake Rig 1505 is a 1500 horsepower self-erecting platform rig.

In addition, PEMEX recently awarded Blake International a 1261 day rollover contract for the Blake Rig 2001, effective following the current contract term set to expire in June 2013. Total contract value is $82,000,000.00 and will keep the rig busy into the first quarter of 2017. The Blake Rig 2001 is a 2000 horsepower self-erecting platform rig.

Blake International and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation have entered into a contract to mobilize the Blake Rig 1007 onto the Marco Polo TLP at Green Canyon 608. The contract is for 2 wells with a 1 well option. The Blake Rig 1007 is currently undergoing modifications at the Blake International facility in Houma Louisiana.

In early 2010, Blake International engineered and developed their "DART" TM kit to prepare for their entry in the deepwater arena. Blake International has purchased a 3000hp platform rig from Well Services LTD in Trinidad. Blake has renamed the rig the "Blake Rig 5" and it has a 1 year contract working for PEMEX with a contract value of $25,000,000.00. "This acquisition was essential for us to meet the market's demand for higher horsepower rigs", says Beau Blake, Vice President of Business Development.

The Blake Rig 5 is currently being shipped from Trinidad to Mexico where it will undergo minor refurbishments before beginning its contract with PEMEX.

PEMEX has recently awarded Blake International two long-term contracts for offshore Mexico. As a result of tender 18575088-508-10, the operator awarded the Blake 2001 a 678- day charter with a start date of August, 2 2011, and the Blake 2003 a 934-day charter scheduled to start May 5, 2011. The total contract values are just over US $71,000,000. Both units (Blake 2001, Blake 2003) are recently upgraded and will be 2000HP Self-Erecting Platform Rigs. The Blake 2001 will be an upgrade from the Blake 1501 and the Blake 2003 will be an upgrade from the Blake 1502. Both upgrades are taking place at the Blake International Facility in Houma, La.

In addition to the two PEMEX Contracts, the Blake 1505 has recently been awarded a contract from Apache Corp. to drill 4 wells with an additional 2 well option. This contract will kick off in July, 2011 on Apache's new MP 308 platform project. The Blake 1505 is being upgraded from the Blake 1005.

Houma, LA- Blake International USA Rigs, LLC is pleased to announce that the construction of their "DART" TM stabilizing structure is completed. The Blake "DART" TM stabilizing structure is designed as a supplement to the rig's mast. It enables a portion of the loads imposed by the pipe stored in the mast to be transferred away from the mast back to the rig substructure thereby enabling the rig to work on floating platforms. It is now available for Blake rigs 1005, 1501, or 1502. We look forward to meeting a wider scope of our customers' needs by introducing this technology into our company.

Blake is also pleased to announce that we have completed another incident free month with no recordables, INCs or Spills. Blake's rigs and yard have worked 23 months with only one recordable injury, and boast a record of 40 consecutive BOEM INC free inspections and have 0 reported spills for the year.

Blake International USA Rigs, LLC is pleased to announce that it's Rig 210 (650 hp self erecting platform unit) has been contracted to Apache Corporation for one, sixty days term with options at South Pass Block 62 "A". The rig is loading out now from the company's operations facility in Houma, LA.

In addition to the new contract for Rig 210, the company's Rig 14 (350 hp self erecting platform unit) which has been continually contracted to Apache Corporation since January 2009, has received a sixty day extension with options to extend starting January 18, 2010. Both Rig 14 and Rig 210 are contracted to Apache's Production Department.

Blake International Rig 1502 (1500 hp self erecting platform unit) is also contracted to Apache's Drilling Department and is currently working at South Pass Block 75 "A".

May 23, 2009 marked the one-year anniversary for Blake International USA Rigs, LLC, which was formed when Michael E. Blake purchased the platform rig operation from Pride International as well as the 45-acre facility in Houma, LA for $66 million in cash. Blake International has benefited from a successful first year and looks forward to continuing to facilitate our clients with expertise, experience and success on all projects. Blake International platform rig Blake 1005 has received a 146-day extension from Petroleso Mexicanos (PEMEX) that will keep the rig contracted with PEMEX through Sept. 9, 2009. Pride holds the PEMEX contract for this rig as it was under contract to PEMEX when Blake International USA Rigs, LLC bought the platform rig fleet from Pride International Inc. in May 2008. Blake International USA Rigs owns the rig, but Pride International and its subsidiary Seahawk manage the operations throughout the current contract term, including the new 146-day extension.

Blake platform rig Blake 1002 recently finished it's contract with PEMEX, contracted through Pride, and is now hot stacked at the Seyba Playa dock in Mexico. The rig will be demobilized to Houma, LA later this month and made available for work in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico or Internationally.

Blake 651 and Blake 1003 are both hot stacked in Houma. Blake International has also received a 90-day extension from Apache Corporation for platform rig Blake 14, keeping the rig contracted to July 2, 2009.  Apache holds options for continued use of the rig thereafter. The rig is now drilling on West Delta Block 103 in approximately 213 feet of water.

Blake International Rigs USA has closed on the asset purchase of Pride International's platform rig fleet including the 42 acre operations facility located in Houma, Louisiana. Blake will continue the ongoing operations of the rigs currently under contract in the US Gulf of Mexico as well as in Mexican waters with PEMEX. Contracts are being negotiated with various Operators that will utilize the rigs currently idle.

Blake has hired over 260 of the platform workforce employees both on and offshore to ensure an efficient transition of operations for its customers. Blake plans to expand its presence both domestically and abroad with the fabrication of deepwater "self-erecting" platform rigs designed for floating production structures located around the world.
